Lesson One
"Introduction to Exploiting the Internet and
Email"
This module demonstrates
the many benefits the Internet can offer for businesses
including effective, low-cost communication, 'bottom-line
benefits', how to promote products and services and improve
business processes. The module explains the various types of
Internet usage e.g. e-business, e-commerce etc. and helps
participants understand where they are now and what
opportunities exist for exploiting the Internet. Using
Search Engines, the do's and don'ts while on the web.
Firewalls explained, and sharing one Internet connection
between many computers on an Office Network.
Lesson Two
"Understanding the Internet Infrastructure"
This module provides an
overview of the components and services required by a
business to implement an ICT/Intranet infrastructure.
Participants gain the essential knowledge they need to help
them make an informed decision on the resources required to
implement the 'Internet-Usage-Level' they require e.g. a web
presence, e-business, e-commerce and an awareness of any
possible operational issues.
Lesson Three
"Building a Web Presence"
This non-technical module
examines the planning and budgeting issues a manager will
need to consider when implementing a successful web site and
provides a comprehensive overview of the commercial, legal
and technical aspects involved for effective website
development.
Lesson Four
"Marketing on the Web"
This lesson provides
participants with the knowledge and experience of, tools and
techniques necessary for effective Website marketing and
promotion. It will provide the necessary information and
skills to help develop and promote a successful web site
that will reach a global audience.
Lesson Five
"Managing the Website"
This module provides an
overview of the tasks and techniques required for successful
web site management including areas such as the on-going
control of content and updating web site functionality. A
key aspect addressed is the registration and manipulation of
search engines and the continuous web site monitoring.
